"In Wirklichkeit, in all den Farben / In reality, in all its colors" investigates the relationship between collective history and private memory using the medium of photography. The starting point of the investigation is a Russian-German family history that is marked by multiple experiences of migration and deportation. The photographic work makes use of both documental search for traces and the interpretation of a family archive. Can an interpretation of the course of history itself function as a memory of the past and thus acquire an independent meaning in the present?
